Artist Statement:
Same Genes began when I was looking through old family photographs and realised how much my great-grandmother and I look alike. We share the same face shape, mouth and facial features. It made me think about how these characteristics are passed down from generation to generation.
Through paper collage, I explore family connections, memory and identity. This work reflects on the invisible threads that connect us across time, reminding me that parts of our ancestors continue to live on in us.
