Sue Jo Wright takes on the captivating role of a recurring special guest and Auslan Consultant for Emma Memma, a beloved character brought to life by Emma Watkins. Together, Emma Watkins and Oliver Brian have created a new book series, and Sue Jo Wright has skillfully transformed it into enchanting Auslan storytelling. Garnering over 25K views and still growing since its recent publication just four months ago, their collaborative work continues to captivate audiences. The main goal of their efforts is to ignite inspiration among children and families, encouraging them to wholeheartedly embrace the beauty of Auslan and cultivate a deep connection with the language.
Deaf Children Australia
This project was created by Deaf Children Australia, an organisation passionate about providing deaf and hard of hearing children with full access to education and the arts. One of their projects is a book titled "Pip and Annie Play Hide and Seek," which was translated into Auslan by Sue Jo Wright and narrated by Emma Watkins.
Love Art Series
This IG Reels series, temporarity titled the "Love Art Series," directed by Sue Jo Wright, captivated audiences with its display of art activities in Auslan throughout an entire month. The resounding success of this project has exceeded expectations, engaging new customers and forging meaningful connections with talented disability artists. To continue this momentum, Sue Jo Wright is now actively seeking funding opportunities to propel the project to new heights. With your support, we can expand and enhance this impactful initiative, reaching a broader audience and empowering individuals within the arts community through accessible art experiences.
Auslan Translation
Directed by Sue Jo Wright, this small project aims to provide Auslan translations of famous artists' quotes for d/Deaf art lovers and hobbyists. The project's goal is to enhance accessibility and inclusivity by making these quotes understandable in Auslan, the sign language used by the Deaf community.
It is important to note that this project is currently in its trial phase, seeking to gauge the interest and effectiveness of providing Auslan translations for famous artists' quotes. The project aims to gather feedback and assess the feasibility of expanding this initiative in the future.
Family Project
This project was a collaboration between Sue Jo Wright and Emma Watkins, creating resources such as "Rainbows Collage," "Colour in Auslan," and "How to Make Family Project in Auslan" for The Family Project. The aim of this collaboration was to provide families with something positive and hopeful to connect with, promoting a sense of togetherness even when physically apart, and nurturing resilience in the face of adversity.
Deaf Connect
This project was directed by Sue Jo Wright to develop an art workshop called "Collage" for Vibe Festival. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all workshops were delivered online in 2020. This marked Sue Jo Wright's first attempt at developing an educational online workshop independently. However, in the Flow Festival in 2021, Sue Jo Wright enhanced the workshop by providing a deeper insight, showcasing the artist's work in progress, and offering more detailed information about the history of Collage. This approach proved to be more successful with the audience.

The Wiggles
In 2020, Sue Jo Wright had the honor of being invited as a special guest for one of The Wiggles' series, featuring the "Handwashing" song. This captivating performance reached an astounding audience of over 3.2M viewers. Sue Jo Wright took on the task of translating the song from English to Auslan, making it accessible and easy to follow for children and families. This initiative proved invaluable during the isolating times of the COVID-19 pandemic, providing an opportunity for learning and engagement while staying at home.
